Nikolas Babovic

Nikolas Babovic is a seasoned executive leader with over two decades of experience in higher education and vocational education and training (VET).

He has played a key role in shaping the sustainability and success of TAFE Queensland, overseeing diverse portfolios including higher education, defence, the Back to Work program, and the TAFE Queensland Scholarship Foundation.

As the former Institute Director of the Central Queensland Institute of TAFE, he led the merger with CQ University, establishing Queensland’s first dual-sector university and later serving as its inaugural Deputy Vice-Chancellor (VET).

Nik is a vital link between TAFE Queensland and government, industry, and community stakeholders, driving initiatives that support economic growth and workforce development. His expertise in higher education strategy and stakeholder engagement ensures seamless pathways from VET to university, enhancing opportunities for students. Nik holds a Bachelor of Education and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership
